Wild fire Weekend

An Instagram sort of weekend. My friend Kenz is really good at treasure hunting. Take this wallhanging for example, she's trading me this treasure for me fixing some awesome sailor pants for her. The barter system really works. Now i just have to fix the pants and stop feeling bad about taking so long!

More purses getting painted (Oh I will definitely be sharing the results of these.)
This weekends project/ my new wallet

Next weekends project: do more painting.

White HOT

Its no secret I'm into fringe. The way it moves, its easy application in DIY's, and maybe its even a bit elongating (It makes me look 5'4 1/2" instead of 5'4"!!). So I did this DIY, inspired by some of the below images (Spanish Moss, Grazia September issue, and Nasty Gal).

Picked up this amazing bright gold leather scrap and I instantly knew I'd be making a belt out of it. Add some white jersey strips and bright gold studs, a couple of snaps, et voila. Best part is you can wear it with the fringe on the sides or the fringe at the front!

Whats your latest DIY? Got any other belt or fringe ideas?

Keep Me Hangin' On

Considering my track record with electronics, i thought it might be smart to invest in a camera bag. Except right now I've got way more time on my hands than money, so i just whipped one up out of some materials I had lying around the house. and by 'whipped one up' I mean spent hours going "why cant this %#^@ machine just do what i &*$# tell it to??" while breaking needle after mother loving needle. Patience really is a virtue.  Honestly, it was worth every minute. I love Sylvia's new home.

Thats right. My camera's name is Sylvia.

Rather just hand over the cash? Scroll down for some beautiful options from etsy.

Just because its holding precious cargo does not mean it needs to be ugly, grey, or have sporty reflective piping. While I'm sure the gortex finished cases with all their aerodynamic features are great for professional photographers who are carrying their equipment around with them in rain, sleet, or snow, that just ain't me. A few below that fulfill both requirements: looking good AND super sturdy.
